Dusting Sulphur
Sulphur is a useful tool when taking cuttings of fleshy plants such as cacti and succulents.
Sulphur has the ability to prevent the rot fungi from germinating, so you have a better chance of success.
Dusting Sulphur can be used on the base of a freshly cut cactus, euphorbia or succulent as an anti-bacterial and anti -fungal remedy. It helps to accelerate drying time for the cut which greatly reduces instances of cuttings developing rot.
Simply dip or sprinkle the Sulphur onto the freshly cut cactus and let dry out for approximately 1-2 weeks. You will then be able to plant your cactus and await the root growth.
